How do I rip movies off of my dvd’s onto my computer?

I move around a lot and when I do I take all my movies and my computer and everything. Well I have A LOT of dvd’s and I’m sick of taking them with me every time I go somewhere so I’d like to rip them all onto my computer but I don’t know how to do it. So could anyone help me out?
