Convert VHS to DVD is Macrovision still an issue?

I want to convert all of my VHS to DVD, I am reading a lot of post that talk about Macro-vision and copyright protection, but most of the posts are at least a couple of years old. Is there still a problem making copies for my own personal use? Do the new DVD recorders bypass macro-vision TECHNOLOGY. I don’t want to lose all the movies my kids loved to watch, just because they are in VHS form.

Yeah Macrovision is still part of the VHS tapes and its pretty hard to bypass the coding I have only seen one unit that has come close to besting Macrovision and that the early Canopus that was able to clear it up is your able to find the original Macrovision ADVC 300 it was a hit. Now on the odd but weird side of copying VHS tapes there is still a VHS player you can find and use that to play the VHS tapes yet you will need a separate DVD Recorder to record the VHS tapes…..look for the Sharp 4 head self cleaning head system looks like this one yet its black and grey:

Again look for the player and see which one passes the video through the unit as there were many from Japan that did not adhere to the Macrovision policy.
